Our ‘C’ movies were two crackers. Casino is a classic, but a bit different. In many ways, it’s a typical Martin Scorsese (the director) movie. There’s a lot of talking, and sometimes it feels like it’s taking ages to go nowhere. But you get to feel like you really know the characters.
Great stuff if you like Robert De Niro.
We were a bit hesitant about City of God, but got it anyway and had no regrets. One of the best movies we’ve seen in ages. A fascinating story, and it was one of those movies that you think about for days afterwards.
4 stars for Casino and 5 stars for City of God.
Next up, ‘D’… I have to find something starting with D which isn’t Die Hard.
