A contrasting mix here; the first ‘G’ movie was ‘Gone in 60 Seconds‘, while the second one was ‘The Godfather‘.

‘Gone in 60 Seconds’ was a reliable no-brainer.  Nick Cage was exactly as you’d expect, and Angelina Jolie was lurking around the edges for some reason.  In many, many ways, this movie made no sense whatsoever.  For instance, they had to steal 50 cars for a measly amount of money – I can’t remember the amount – but once it was split across the team it would have been chump change.

Secondly, the main bad guy was someone nicknamed ‘The Carpenter’.  Lame.

Anyhoo, it was an ok movie for a Wednesday night blob-out.

‘The Godfather’ is an excellent movie.  Really, really good.  For a movie made in 1972, it hasn’t aged a bit and is unsurpassable in many ways. It’s not surprising that it’s routinely named as one of the best films ever made.

Next week, ‘H’.. could be difficult.  Nothing springs to mind here, so we’ll see what can be found.
